I just looked through your blog to try and find anything about the pregnancy drama to try and figure it out(which I think I might have). I got bored about thirty min and 25 pages in. More of a statement then a ask but still
Did you happen to meet and get a autograph from Nabeshin? And did you happen to record what went on at the convention?
okay fantastic, you’re the person who impersonated me in a reply to that guy? he showed me the comment you left on.. wherever it was, saying to come to my table for “reborn” stuff? to go to table 188, papaya arts, for discount commissions? really?
don’t pull that shit again. it’s kind of fucked up. turns out he was a totally cool guy and we both agreed that the person leaving that comment was either a dickhead or a troll. so, it’d be nice if you could not do that again.
So I've been meanin' to aks this for a while, but... What is your opinion on creatin' a confession blog for PMD-E? (Because if I can, I would like to make one, but I just wanted to make sure if it's OK to do it...).
Seeing Ivee's question reminded me of this one I got asked in Art101. What do you think is the strongest element in a piece of art? When I say element, I say things like: line, balance, white space, negative space, rhythm, contrast, color, etc. Does it depend on the artist or is there something that is always strong when we look at art? Do you think one specific element is overused or overstressed in most of the non-professional art done today? :words:
I think that question is fucking HORRIBLE and do you know what? I absolutely hated discussing “Art” at MICA. I hated it. I hated it so much. “Art” as a general thing to discuss is fucking shitty because it’s so general and vague and can mean a thousand million fucking things and it just brings back bad memories of people talking forever about their boring opinions about “and if this” and “what about that” and “I don’t think this is art’ and BLAH BLAH
It depends on the artist, on the piece of art, and on the context. It depends on so many factors that it’s really impossible for me to discuss The Elements Of Art In Art without talking about specific pieces or a specific body of work; it would all just be useless noise
most people who don’t do professional art don’t understand anything about line, balance, white/negative space, rhythm, contrast, or color, or any other thing you can pull out of thin air to describe art, like texture or bbbbblaaaah
every element of art must come together in an appealing way to be successful. guess what? different things are appealing to different people
therefore i hate this question
it’s a good question for a lot of people, but I really hate it
pk I was just curious is I could use an NPC that I made for the group in one of my stories? Or would that throw people off considering the rotom NPC's that I made (highly doubt you've seen it) have a place in Steel City. That's what I mean, by throwing people off. Does that make sense?
Hey, this might be a horrible question, but I thought it was worth asking. Could I make a new team with a Kanghaskan and a Charmander as her son, have the Kanghaskan die, and have the Charmander become a Cubone and wear the skull? Or is that too out there? I know there's a theory of that being how a Cubone is made.
UHH haha… a CHARMANDER? I know there’s a theory about the baby kangaskhan in the pouch becoming Cubone, but I think Charmander is a bit farfetched
Hi PK, how is ACEN? I have a question: what is the general extent of technology in Alomomola City? I know you mentioned the different districts before, and I keep thinking of the casino area being crowded with neon lights, and flashy advertisement. Is this acurate? Is it an area with a lot of traffic and a lot of appeal? Does it attract people from all over the world; something akin to our Las Vegas?
ACEN has been lots of fun! Also Alomomola only has gadgets and gizmos in the casino; the traffic is basically a lot of carts and a lot of Pokemon always browsing wares out in the streets, and yeah it attracts tons of overseas foreigners as well as Pokemon from up and down the coast
What are some Pokemon you find to have bad design? I find most Pokemon, since they're made by a professional, work, even if I don't personally like them, but there can be some duds. Which designs don't work, in your opinion?
this is a great question
it’s really hard for me to find faults in the designs of most every Pokemon, since usually each and every one has more than one idea going into its conception— like, bronzong/dotakuun i was like “ugh” and then while researching japanese art history I find out about dotaku bells that look just like the fucker. ugh! (doesnt mean i like the bells, I don’t)
I’m scrolling through the pokedex atm and having a lot of trouble because I think I could make a case for nearly every design; it’s really amazing how much thought does go into them! I remember reading the designer interview about hydreigon and saying originally they wanted to make it look more like a tank, but that didn’t work - so it was redesigned but the tank tread pattern was kept on the belly. that’s super interesting to me because I was intrigued by it to begin with, so hearing an explanation ties it together in a neat way
you’ll probably hate me for it though, I just realized most of the designs I really don’t like are fighitng types :( I groaned when i saw the new plushies included sawk and throh
oh also fuck amoongus i take back what i said about defending any design, that pokemon is stupid and shitty and the pattern is so goddamn unnatural
This girl, who happens to live with me AND attend the same program as me, is driving me crazy. She's incredibly passive aggressive, dates/brings home jerks who are jerky to me, and says things behind my back to mutual friends that are uncalled for & childish (I’m lame/weird for not shaving my legs, not drink/partying all the time, or whatever else she can come up with). I've tried ignoring/staying away from her, but she still makes me feel so angry and hurt. I feel helpless. What would you do?
damn. aside from trying to not live with her asap, I’d confront her about the shit she pulls and the things she says, ESPECIALLY if they are petty and uncalled for. if she’s really just intolerable, I’m afraid to say that it’s about sticking it out til you can get away. if you haven’t tried confronting her at least a few times, you need to try that first
Don't you think it's a bit weird that there was very little to no time at all to rally against CISPA as a whole? I'm thinking that someone blackmailed all those people to speed-draft and approve that bill before we could even set up the banners and march on the white house.
What do you mean "PMD is only ever pronounced 'piemdee'"? Ignorant! We should be able to pronounce it the way we want! If I can't pronounce it "plgmdf",then that somehow inhibits my creativity. You're probably only against the alternate pronunciations because you don't like me and you know that I use them all the time. I can't believe that you banned me because of this!
Why do glasses on mons look terrible? Are you sure you don't mean quadrupedal mons only? Winstons glasses look good imo. They underline his meek character but why did it make a difference that they're tinted? Not wanting to start something, just curious.
winston’s glasses are big and round and it made a difference that they were tinted because it was the choice between just circle lines on his face, and blobs of color that added to the composition- do you know what I mean by that? it changed the design entirely to add color in such a way, something that just plain, clear glasses have a harder time doing
basically you have to consider the face as a whole with glasses; chill’s were as acceptable as winston’s because they were wholly a design element instead of just adding more lines to a face to make it less readable at a distance… his glasses are a distinct shape and color which added to the overall composition of the head/face
tiny, plain glasses only serve to needlessly complicate the facial area if you do not know what you’re doing
